Interface, Inc. Names Patrick C. Lynch Chief Financial Officer

ATLANTA, Georgia, July 26, 2001 -- Interface, Inc. (Nasdaq: IFSIA) announced its appointment and promotion of Patrick C. Lynch to the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the Company, effective immediately.
Mr. Lynch joined Interface in 1996 and was promoted to Assistant Corporate Controller of the Company in 1998 and Assistant Vice President and Corporate Controller of the Company in 2000. Before working at Interface, Mr. Lynch worked in public accounting at a multinational accounting firm. He is a Certified Public Accountant and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from The Citadel and a Masters degree in business administration and a Juris Doctorate degree from Georgia State University.
In commenting on the appointment, Daniel T. Hendrix, President and Chief Executive Officer, stated: "I am very pleased by the promotion of Patrick Lynch to the position of CFO. He was selected from a group of strong candidates and brings valuable financial and public accounting experience to his new role. He has worked closely and well with me, and the other members of our senior management team, in his role as Corporate Controller, and I look forward to continuing to work with him as CFO."
The Company further indicated that it currently does not intend to appoint a Corporate Controller to replace Mr. Lynch.
